Peacock Fiber-Optic Lamps: A MD STEM Festival Event

Make a Peacock Fiber-Optic Lamp with a BeAndge kit. Elementary-school-aged children will learn about light transmission, fiber optics, and engineering principles while making a peacock with a colorful light-up tail. All supplies, tools and batteries provided. The Maryland STEM Festival is a month-long celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics designed to advance STEM and STEAM education for children and teens that takes place every fall. Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
